August 2, 2019

The Royal Borough of Greenwich has been recognised as a great employer following accreditation by the Mayor of London’s newly launched Good Work Standard.

The Good Work Standard is part of the Mayor of London’s commitment to making London the best city in the world to work.

Cllr Christine Grice, Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources, said:

“The Royal Borough of Greenwich is a vibrant and well-run borough and a fantastic place to work with many staff benefits. The diverse range of career opportunities we have available reflects the communities we serve and services we provide.”

“We are pleased to be one of the first official Mayor’s Good Work Standard employers in London. We believe this is an important recognition of our commitment to our people.”

The Mayor’s Good Work Standard sets the benchmark for the best employment standards and helps employers contribute to a fairer and more inclusive London economy. This means the economy works for all Londoners and more Londoners can access good jobs, in workplaces that support their health and wellbeing.

To make this happen, the Mayor is working with organisations like the Royal Borough of Greenwich to celebrate excellent work practices and assist businesses in adopting best practice approaches by bringing together a range of support and resources.

By signing up to the Mayor’s Good Work Standard, employers signal that they are committed to healthy, fair and inclusive workplaces. We know this is an important step in attracting and retaining a diverse, talented and successful workforce and we hope to assist other organisations in realising these benefits.
