April 26, 2019

An event focusing on the four Grand Challenges set out in the Government’s Industrial Strategy will be hosted by the University of Greenwich and Innovate UK next week to tackle the issues of Clean Growth, AI and Data, Healthy Ageing and The Future of Mobility.

‘Greenwich is Open’ will feature keynote speeches from a range of experts, including the University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Javier Bonet, Director of Digital Greenwich, Trevor Dorling and Dr Josh Davis, an expert in human super-face recognition in policing and business.

Specialists in the subjects encompassed by the four Grand Challenges will give an overview of each with a view to introducing the audience to the concepts and their expertise.

Individual sessions will take place in the afternoon on aspects of business such as managing growth, how to secure match funding and using the Knowledge Transfer Network’s “Innovation Canvas”.

Speaking about the event, Professor Javier Bonet said: “We’re excited to show the opportunities the University of Greenwich can offer businesses, from Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and access to funding, to unlocking access to research.

“We hope this event will help us develop further relationships, consortia and enterprise opportunities, and look forward to welcoming the attendees on the day.”

The event is free and takes place at the University of Greenwich’s Stockwell Street building. To find out more or register to attend, visit the event page.
