Frankfurt
Queue medieval music… Frankfurt’s Christmas market has been around since 1393 and it has no intention of stopping any time soon! An iconic part of German markets are Lebkuchen, round or heart shaped cookies, so don’t forget to get your hands on one! Find beautifully handmade decorations to adorn your tree and take a little of the Frankfurt magic with you. That or fill up on pretzels and beer, whichever floats your boat.
Berlin
With 80 different market locations across the city there-snow reason to miss out on the festivities. One of the local’s favourites is Winterwelt – watch as the Potsdamer Platz turns into a winter wonderland that is sure to bring out your inner child. Ice skate around this magical setting before feasting on local treats at Schmankerl-Hüttn.
Warsaw
Time to grab a pint! But not just any pint – Warsaw offers a range of speciality hot beers for connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike. With temperatures dipping below 0°c, head to the Old Town market and spice up your visit with Grzane Piwo. This beer includes ginger syrup, clove, cinnamon and other mulling spices. Could a drink sound more festive? Also look out for some of Poland’s distinctive folk souvenirs, such as amber, ceramics, and linen.
