Business Support Message – Peabody Economic Inclusion Team

March 27, 2020

Dear all,

We hope you are keeping well.

The national situation regarding Covid-19 continues to change on a daily basis and with the Prime Minister’s announcement that major restrictions are now in place to stem the spread of Covid-19.  Our priority is to provide you with up to date information on how you and your business can be supported.

In order to streamline this information we are directing businesses and partners to the Thamesmead Portal www.thamesmeadnow.org.uk/portal.

We have attached a Business Support Links document which we have prepared to help you access links and information from a variety of sources. We have also provided information pertaining to Universal Credit and Benefit Entitlement Calculators to ensure that you can establish whether there is any additional government support that you may be entitled to.

This is not an exhaustive list, so please let us know if you have any useful sources and share them with us so that we can ensure that these can be added to the Thamesmead Portal. We would encourage all of our businesses and partners to sign up to the Business e-alerts and Business Newsletters being sent out by our partners at the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the London Borough of Bexley. These will provide you with the key information and details of how Central Government policies, funding and initiatives are being disseminated and translated on a Local Authority level:

Royal Greenwich Business e-alert (www.royalgreenwich.gov.uk/businessnews)

Bexley for Business Newsletter (https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/UKBEXLEY/subscriber/new?preferences=true#tab1)

Over the past week we have had an opportunity to speak with many of our businesses and partners to establish how the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting them and we have been overwhelmed by the positivity and resilience from our business community.

Many of you are embracing technology and have brought forward projects to take your products and services online and are exploring new ways of communicating online and virtually with your employees and customers.  Communication is key to our continued success and ensuring that we are best positioned now and after this challenging period.

In light of this, we will be hosting a Webinar on Monday 30th March 2020 from 3pm until 4:30pm.  We will be using Zoom Video Conferencing (www.zoom.us) which is free for you to access and will allow us to invite up to 100 attendees. If you would like to join us then please send me a message and we will send you a unique invitation. The topics for discussion will cover Peabody updates, Local Authority support from Bexley and Greenwich, updates from the Federation of Small Businesses and a Q&A session.

During this uncertain time we appreciate that there will be challenges for us all and we want you to know that we are here to support you and we do not want any of our businesses or partners to feel alone or isolated so please do not hesitate to contact us.

Please continue to follow the NHS guidelines for hygiene and practise the sensible precautions we have been advised to follow to stop any unnecessary spread of the virus so that we can protect the vulnerable members of our community.

We look forward to speaking with you soon.
