Abena Oppong-Asare is the Labour MP for Erith and Thamesmead. We look forward to welcoming Abena as this is the first time the Chamber will be hearing from the Labour MP.
Abena Oppong-Asare MP will be discussing affordable housing and the response to the housing crisis post-COVID. Since the lockdown began Abena has seen an increase in constituency casework relating to housing issues and as the ban on evictions is lifted thousands will face housing insecurities. As part of Abena’s role on the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee she has been recommending ways to address the housing crisis and prevent a return to the levels of street homelessness we saw prior to COVID-19.
Speaker: Abena Oppong-Asre MP
Topic: Affordable housing and post-COVID response
