New Support Service for Residents Financially Impacted Due to COVID-19

October 30, 2020

Royal Greenwich has launched a new integrated service for residents that have been affected by the pandemic.

The scheme will help residents facing unemployment, financial hardship or are at risk of becoming homeless, because of COVID-19.

Residents will be able to complete a short form on indicating the service required, with the option to access all three services at the same time.  They will then be contacted to go through the type of help required.

Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Cllr Danny Thorpe said:

“We are aware that over 40,000 residents have been furloughed in the borough and know that there are still challenging times ahead especially with the furlough scheme coming to an end in October this year.

The scheme will enable us to provide targeted support to the individuals in the three areas we know pose the greatest risk to residents during an economic downturn. If anyone is struggling due to the coronavirus financially or otherwise, regardless of their situation we encourage them to get in touch. It’s important that people realise that support is available and make full use of it.”
