Operation Makesafe launched in Bexley
Police in Bexley has launched a joint-initiative with the London Borough of Bexley, calling on the assistance of the local business community to help identify potential victims of child sexual exploitation (CSE).
Operation Makesafe seeks to raise awareness within Bexley's hospitality and licensed premises trades around the possible warning signs to look out for when coming into contact with young people they believe may be at risk of sexual exploitation.
Individuals will be encouraged to report any concerns to a dedicated hotline, which will be manned by police call-handlers who have received training in this area; ensuring a swift and appropriate response is provided.
As part of this work, businesses are also being encouraged to take a pro-active role and implement preventative measures to safeguard their premises from CSE.
