Letter from Chamber Past President and Board Director, Stephen Nelson on the Proposed Rail Cuts
You may have heard about the proposed permanent cuts to services from stations in Greenwich, Lewisham and Bexley as outlined in the South Eastern Rail Franchise Public Consultation.
In short services to Charing Cross and Victoria from the Metro services on the North Kent (between Dartford and Charlton), the Greenwich and Bexleyheath lines including Lewisham would terminate at Cannon Street only. This outcome would mean passengers for the other two central destinations having to change trains and platforms at London Bridge or switch to the Underground.
The consultation document may be read in full here, response links are included.
There is also a separate petition opposing the proposals here, make sure that you click on the email that will be sent to you once you have signed the petition.
We would encourage you all to oppose these cuts, which once again knocks poor old South East London.
