Highlights - Tall Ships Festival
The Royal Greenwich Festival Villages at Royal Arsenal Woolwich and Maritime Greenwich are open from 13 to 16 April from around 11am to 8pm.
Each day will see international and local performers on stage, entertaining visitors with jazz, soul, contemporary and world music, sea shanties, as well as dance performances. Just turn up at a stage and enjoy the show - no ticket needed.
- The opening night in Woolwich, on Thursday 13 April, will feature Glenn Tilbrook from Squeeze (7.45pm) and Hydromania, a spectacular performance of light, sound and water (8.30pm).
- A stunning farewell fireworks display the Royal Arsenal riverside in Woolwich is scheduled for 9.45pm on Saturday, 15 April (dependent on weather and conditions).
- The fleet of Tall Ships assembles for the departing Parade of Sail on the River Thames at Deptford Creek and Maritime Greenwich, on Sunday 16 April. The ships depart Greenwich at 5.00pm, passing Woolwich at around 5.45pm, and will be visible from the whole riverfront of the borough.
- Visitors can join the queue to get on board ships moored at Woolwich Pier from 9.30am to 4.30pm free of charge. For ships moored in the river at Greenwich, tickets are available on the day to visit the ships via the Greenwich Pier shuttle service running from 9.30am to 4.45pm. The tickets cost £10 for adults, £8 for children under 16 and £30 for a family (two adults and two children).
Performances in Eltham
On Saturday 15 April the Tall Ships festivities spread to Eltham High Street. From 10.30am onwards, there'll be music performances at Passey Place, by:
- Brothers in Swing
- Pete Hicks
- Decks & Quartz
- Santino Fabbricatore
There will also be children's activities during the day.
