Consultation on Bexley's draft Growth Strategy is about to enter its final week, with the 14 July deadline for comments fast approaching.

The Council’s Growth Roadshow is scheduled to make one final appearances next week, on Tuesday 11 July between 12pm and 4pm at Parkview Community Hub, Thamesmead.

"We've been pleased with the attendance at the roadshows so far," says Cllr Linda Bailey, Cabinet member for Regeneration & Growth. "We've held them at a range of locations across the borough and our staff have taken the opportunity to tell people about the strategy and what it could mean for them and for the borough.”

"Given the scale of what we're proposing it is perhaps not surprising that some people have misunderstood our plans or are concerned at their impact,” she added. “Major development of the type we are setting out will only happen if there is major investment in public transport improvements and other key infrastructure. It will also be phased over a long period of time to ensure that these changes are properly considered and controlled.

“I cannot emphasise this enough: any development proposals will be subject to planning permission and the usual consultation.”
