Bromley's St Mark's Square Development

In early May before handing over the chain of office, the former Mayor of Bromley Cllr Julian Benington attended a small ceremony to celebrate the construction of St Mark's Square. Chamber’s Strategic Partners the London Borough of Bromley is in partnership with chamber member Cathedral Group (Holdings) Ltd to deliver a £90m mixed-use PPP scheme to transform the southern end of Bromley Town Centre. This high quality development forms part of Bromley Council’s wider proposal to enhance the town center economy and its cultural and recreational offering.

On the site of the Council's former 600 space Westmoreland Road car park, St Mark’s Square scheme is a new residential and leisure quarter with a landscaped public square surrounded by a nine screen multiplex VUE cinema. 25,000 sq ft of cafés and restaurants including PizzaExpress, Dean’s Diner, Prezzo, Las Iguanas, Nandos and Turtle Bay, a 130-bedroom Premier Inn hotel, 200 private and affordable apartments and a new 400 space secure underground car park. Work started on site in April 2013 and completion is anticipated this autumn.
