"The 16th century inn, one of the oldest in Blackheath, began its life as a coaching stop on the old Roman road from London to Dover.
Today, its proximity to the heath, with its many fairs, circuses and public events, make it a busy watering hole for tourists, office workers and residents alike. The pub is also close to Greenwich Park, through which visitors can walk to the Royal Observatory and stroll down to the National Maritime Museum.
We have now opened Todd's Wine Bar in our upstairs room offering a great selection of wines from around the world along with a good selection of premium spirits including our extensive Whisky and Gin menus. In Todd's we are also serving our "tapas style" tasting menu, with a selection of individual and sharing dishes to compliment your choice of wine.
In warm weather, customers can enjoy Blackheath’s cosmopolitan atmosphere around the tables at the front of the pub while the inside of the bar is bright, modern and spacious.
The pub also hosts occasional live entertainment. There is also a pub quiz every Sunday night"
